- India lose → you lose your ₹1,000 stake.

- India win → you pay out ₹1,000 (your liability).
Laying means you take the other side, like the bookmaker does. Because both sides are available, exchange odds are usually sharper than a fixed book — but your liability on a lay can be larger than your stake, so size it carefully.
